Melville Intermediate - Inter-Intermediate Soccer

Today we had the Inter-Intermediate Soccer Tournament at Galloway Park. Melville Intermediate was fielding two teams in competition in the Boys and Girls events. There are full reports from this day following, as well as video footage from the play off between Cambridge Intermediate and Melville Intermediate Girls! We had the camera's at the venue as well and took a large number of photographs, the slide shows of which will appear over the coming days.

Boys Inter-Intermediate Soccer Report
On Wednesday 13th May 2009 our School Soccer team went to Interschool Soccer competition at Galloway Park. Our team was made up of Blair Aaron, Hyrum, Nick, Jacob, Taylor, Raukawa, James, Rex, Kaiya and Nick.

Our first game was against Matamata Intermediate, and we drew 0-0. Then we had our break. An hour later we had our second game against Tokoroa Intermediate. We dominated possession but still weren’t able to get the ball past their keeper. Our closet chance was when Kaiya hit the crossbar. We drew with Tokoroa 0-0. Our third game was against Cambridge Intermediate. We hardly were in this game in the first half. We ended up losing this game 0-3. Our last game of our pool was against Peachgrove Intermediate. They dominated the whole game. They scored a header in the last minute and were celebrating like crazy. We lost this again 0-3. We made it to the play offs between 7th and 8th. We played against Fairfield Intermediate. Our best chance was when Aaron passed it to me then I shot but missed. I was a little mad at myself. Fairfield scored again and again. We ended up losing 2-0 and came eight. We were very tired at the end. We would like thank Mr Bell for coaching us.
