Melville Intermediate - Count to 100 in Maori

This is the second lesson in the series. In the first Arahia and Bailey show you how to count from 1 to 10. In this short video Arahia and Vitolina show you how to use that knowledge to count from 11 to 99. In the Maori language their are no 'teen' numbers so 11 is literally ten and one (Tekau Ma Tahi). Twenty Five is Rua Ma Rima etc. The Girls will go through some examples to help you with this, but once you get the idea its easy! Just as your learning this online its something that Room 8 is doing for our Te Reo Maori Language Work. Filmed at Melville Intermediate on 4th May.

  1. Hi Room 8,

We learnt a lot by watching your movie clip. We really enjoyed it because we are going to be learning Maori numbers too. We thought that the music at the start and the end was pretty awesome too! One thing we wanted to know was, how do you say 100 in Maori?
